Absorption Heat Pumps powered by an integrated gas burner are a viable
alternative to Electric Compressor Heat Pumps as well as cogeneration systems. Thanks to
heat generation efficiency close to 1,7 and relatively low investment expenditure, AHP
ensures an attractive heat price and the possibility of increasing the share of renewable
sources of heat in the fuel structure of the Heat Distribution Companies. The article presents
the results of comparative calculations of operating costs of the Gas Boiler, Compressor Heat
Pump, and Absorption Heat Pump system as heat sources for the needs of the Municipal
District Heating Network.
